European leaders have pledged a united front in response to US President Donald Trump's unprecedented threat to impose tariffs on eight European countries unless Denmark sells Greenland. In a social media post, Trump announced that products from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and the UK will face an additional 10% tariff, which could rise to 25% by June, until a deal is reached for Greenland's purchase. Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory, has been a flashpoint in recent weeks, with the US administration expressing a desire to acquire it for national security reasons.
The EU's Response and Concerns
The EU's response to Trump's tariffs is twofold.
