Traffic Alert: Major Disruption in Nottingham Due to Maid Marian Way Closure

Maid Marian Way is currently closed, leading to considerable delays in both traffic and public transportation services.

As of 7:04 PM, bus services have resumed their normal routes, although some cancellations and delays are still expected as the road begins to reopen.

At this moment, details surrounding the reason for the closure have yet to be disclosed; updates will follow as more information becomes available.

In response to the closure, several bus services have altered their routes. The Navy, Green, and service 90 buses will now solely operate from Nottingham Station.

Additionally, there have been modifications to the stopping points for the Orange 34, which will now only stop at Angel Row, and for the Turquoise 77, 78, and 79 lines, which will exclusively use the Cathedral stop.

Nottingham City Transport issued a statement at 5:25 PM, highlighting the significant disruptions and delays caused by the closure of Maid Marian Way. They provided alternative stopping arrangements, which are as follows:

  • Navy 1, 3 and Pathfinder 90: These buses will not serve Beastmarket Hill, Maid Marian Way, or Broadmarsh. Passengers are advised to use Nottingham Station instead.
  • Green 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11: Similar to the Navy buses, these will also skip Maid Marian Way and Broadmarsh. Travelers should head to Angel Row or Nottingham Station.
  • Orange 34: This service will no longer stop at Maid Marian Way, Broadmarsh, Bellar Gate, or the Ice Arena. Instead, passengers can catch it at the Victoria Centre or Angel Row.
  • Red 45 and Navy 49: These routes are unable to serve Maid Marian Way or Broadmarsh; riders should use either Angel Row or the Victoria Centre/Nottingham Station.
  • Turquoise 77, 78, 79: These buses cannot access Maid Marian Way, Broadmarsh, Fletcher Gate, or George Street. Passengers are directed to the Victoria Centre or Upper Parliament Street for their stops.
